At SKINREQUISITE, we are passionate about healthy living and the power of botanicals. Our founder, Kamila Starczewska, was raised in Poland and from an early age, she immersed herself in the world of natural remedies and holistic medicine. Kamila's knowledge of botanicals was passed down through generations, and she continues to study and explore the benefits of plants today.

As a child, Kamila learned valuable beauty secrets from her ageless beauty icon, her grandmother. She witnessed her grandmother's beauty rituals, which involved using natural ingredients straight from the earth. From using potato peels to remove age spots, chamomile to lighten hair, to exfoliating the skin with fresh strawberries and yogurt, her grandmother's cabinets were filled with "magical" potions.

Inspired by her grandmother's wisdom and armed with her own expertise, Kamila founded SKINREQUISITE in 2018. Our ecommerce store specializes in skincare products that harness the power of natural ingredients. KAMILA WAS RAISED IN POLAND AND EARLY ON  BEGAN HER JOURNEY INTO THE WOLRD OF HEALTHY LIVING. HER KNOWLEDGE OF BOTANICALS WAS PASSED ON TO HER FROM GENERATIONS AND THEN CONTINUED TO IMMERSE HER STUDIES OF PLANTS TILL TODAY.GROWING UP SHE WAS TAUGHT BY HER GRANDMOTHER ABOUT CULTURAL TRADITIONS, HOLISTIC MEDICINE AND THE EFFECTIVENESS OF BOTANICALS. HER GRANDMOTHER WAS AN AGELESS BEAUTY ICON, AND KAMILA WAS EAGOR TO LEARN ALL HER BEAUTY SECRETS. AS A CHILD SHE WATCHED HER GRANDMOTHER PERFORMING BEAUTY RITUALS STRAIGHT FROM THE EARTH: USING PEELED SKIN FROM POTATOES TO REMOVE AGE SPOTS FROM HER HANDS, CHAMOMILE TO LIGHTEN HER HAIR, FRESH STRAWBERRIES AND YOGURT TO EXFOLIATE HER SKIN.. HER GRANDMOTHER’S CABINETS WERE FILLED WITH ‘’MAGICAL’’ POTIONS, HERBAL EXTRACTS WHICH SHE FORMULATED HERSELF FROM THE PLANTS SHE GREW IN HER GARDEN. ‘’NATURAL BEAUTY IS THE ONLY BEAUTY’’, GRANDMA SAID.

KAMILA AFTER GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL IN POLAND MOVED FOR COLLEGE TO NEW YORK TO STUDY BUSINESS. THE CITY BUSY LIFESTYLE TOOK A GREAT TOLL ON HER HEALTH AND OVERALL WELLNESS. SHE QUICKLY REALIZED THAT LIVING HEALTHY IN A BIG CITY WAS TRUE CHALLENGE. SHE TOOK A GREAT INTEREST IN NUTRITION AND PHYSICAL HEALTH AND GOT CERTIFIED TO BECOME A WELLNESS AND EXERCISE COACH, A CAREER SHE CONTINUED FOR OVER A DECADE. IN HER 30’S SHE STARTED SHOWING FISRT SIGNS OF AGING AND HER SKIN HEALTH BEGAN TO SUFFER FROM CYSTIC ACNE, HYPERPIGMENTATION, AND BROKEN CAPILLARIES. SHE BECAME A FRUSTRATED CONSUMER STRUGGLING TO FIND SKINCARE PRODUCTS THAT MET HER STANDARDS. TERRIFIED WITH ALL THE SYNTHETIC INGREDIENTS AND HARMFUL CHEMICALS IN MAINSTREAM SKINCARE SHE STARTED MAKING HER OWN PRODUCTS. SHE STUDIED HOW TO FORMULATE PRODUCTS AND BECAME A NEW YORK LICENSED ESTHETICIAN. WHILE IN BEAUTY SCHOOL SHE BECAME POPULAR FOR HER SKINCARE FORMULATION AND HER FIRST CUSTOMERS WERE HER FELLOW CLASSMATES AND TEACHERS. BY THE TIME SHE GRADUATED THE SCHOOL SKINREQUISTE WAS BORN.
